Our Mission

Safe, reliable, affordable service for our members

Prentiss County Electric Power Association exists to serve our members with safe, reliable, and convenient electricity at the lowest possible cost — and now to bring modern fiber internet to the same homes and businesses we have powered for generations.

A Member-Owned Cooperative

Owned by the people we serve

Prentiss County Electric Power Association is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by its members. Unlike investor-owned utilities such as Duke Power, Entergy, and Mississippi Power Company that prioritize investor returns — or municipal systems run by individual cities — cooperatives were originally established to bring electricity to rural communities that lacked the population density to be profitable for traditional utility companies.

Today that same cooperative model is what makes Prentiss Connect possible: a fiber network built and maintained by your neighbors, accountable to members instead of shareholders.

The right size to serve you well

The cooperative serves members across Prentiss County, Mississippi. We are small enough to know our members personally, yet large enough to invest in modern infrastructure like fiber-to-the-home.

Service Area & Rates

Among the lowest rates in the region

Despite serving a lower-density region, Prentiss County EPA maintains among the lowest rates in Mississippi and throughout the seven-state Tennessee Valley Authority service territory. Careful stewardship allows us to keep costs down for everyone we serve.

Community Commitment

More than a utility

Beyond utility operations, our employees, management, and board members actively contribute to their communities through civic leadership, church involvement, youth sports, and school activities.

We partner with the Tennessee Valley Authority, regional industrial development associations, and local development groups to foster economic growth and business expansion across Prentiss County.
